Early
Learning Opportunity Act
This
grant provided one hundred scholarships to early education
caregivers to attend a three credit college course
at St. Petersburg College.
In
addition, participants receive:
- coaching
to assist them to use their knowledge in the classroom
- supplies
and equipment to enhance the literacy environment
in their classrooms
And
children received testing for social/emotional challenges,
and referrals made as appropriate.
The
seventeen month long grant will end in February, 2005,
unless a no-cost extension is requested.
